Murcia

Murcia is located in the southeast of Spain, and it has a long history that will make you feel like you traveled back in time. In fact, this area was conquered by the Carthaginians, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Muslims, and the Christians. As a result, it houses many archeological remains that date back to pre-medieval times.

He who has faith in himself does not need others to believe in him.”

Murcia is famous for the Mar Menor, a lagoon located in an area known as La Manga. Thanks to the lagoon, this area is particularly beautiful and rich, especially for fisheries. As for the city of Cartagena, its Carthaginian and Roman pasts result in plenty of remains which date back to the 2nd century B.C.E. These cultures left a mark in the city, as the Roman Theater clearly shows. The Muslim past is also visible, not only through the architecture, but also through the food: its cuisine is based on rice and vegetables. All of this makes Murcia a place full of nuance.
